Social Responsibility
Product
- We believe in fashion with a conscience and that ownership comes with responsibility.
- Our roadmap aims towards making at least 45% of our raw-materials eco-friendly by year 2026 and 100% by year 2030.
- We support the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). BCI adheres to sustainable cotton farming practices. Better cotton is sourced via a system of mass balance and not physically traceable to end products. Better cotton farmers receive training on how to use water efficiently, care for the health of the soil, minimize the impact of harmful crop. It also promotes the use of improved irrigation practices as well as reducing the use of fertilizers. Some of the benefits of wearing BCI cotton garments are:
- Softer than conventional cotton fabric
- Is skin friendly and doesn’t irritate the skin
- Breathable and allows for airflow
- Durable, long-lasting clothes
People
- Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond materials. We work with ateliers around the world that undergo audit & screening prior to approval. It is imperative that our workers have a safe, healthy and fair working environment. For this reason, we partner closely with our ateliers so we understand their day-to-day challenges and can jointly work towards improvement.
- We want many people around the world to be able to afford our exclusive pieces and hence, we try to minimize unnecessary costs in overheads, marketing and production that are ultimately passed on to the customers. Our current digital business model allows us to keep the overheads low. However, we do want customers to be able to have first-hand experience before purchasing the product and are actively working to partner with boutiques, stores and pop-ups across the globe. In the coming months, you will be able to shop our products locally.
Planet
- We launch limited edition collections of new products each season which means lesser waste ends up in landfill. A responsible production model with the absence of intermediaries, flash sales or overproduction helps us to reach this goal. We also try to use rescued deadstock fabric and low-impact materials to help minimize the waste.
- Our packaging material is 100% recyclable and is derived from sustainably-managed forests.
- We also try to reduce the carbon footprint by using road transport wherever feasible.
